Many professionals we talk to are just getting started with social media, and we feel like there are a number of things to consider before you do. Where will it add value? How much time should you be spending? Even if you know WHY you’re using it, WHAT are you using it for? Determined as we are to find the learning application for everything, we decided to experiment with Twitter as a learning platform by hosting our own Twitter chat.
Our chat, #TalkTech, focuses on emerging technology gadgets and trends that relate to learning. Our staff is encouraged to submit an article every week, and we pick the three most interesting topics to discuss on Thursday afternoons at 3 pm. We keep a transcript of the chat and post it to our blog for anyone to reference later. As it turns out, Twitter is a fantastic informal learning tool. Are you using it?
