Bottom-Line Performance, Inc. (BLP) and Roche Diagnostics received the LTEN “Partnership Award” in the first annual LTEN Excellence Awards competition. The LTEN awards honor best-in-class learning and development initiatives within the life sciences, and winners were recognized on-stage at the 44th LTEN Annual Conference.

The winning submission, cobas® reIMAGINE customer training, is an innovative blended learning curriculum that is driving significant business results for Roche.

“This award reaffirms early customer feedback regarding the reIMAGINE of our customer training,” said Rob Terrell, Director of Commercial Education at Roche Diagnostics. “We have narrowed our learning objectives of the systems to reflect what a customer must be able to accomplish on a daily basis in their labs. For more advanced training, we have developed tools to give customers the ability to feel confident in addressing other needs along the way.”

The “Partnership” award category was especially appropriate, as BLP and Roche have partnered since 2005 to create solutions that support customer training, product launches, safety & compliance, and more.

“We are really proud and honored to win this award for our partnership with Roche because it is such a critical training initiative. It helps the lab employees at five different levels do their job confidently and competently,” said Leanne Batchelder, VP of Client Relations. “It’s translated into on-the job results and success for Roche… and when Roche has success, we have success. That’s what makes a good partnership.”

All learning solutions in the blended learning curriculum were designed to be modular and scalable. Tools such as a smartphone reinforcement app and iPad app for trainers were first developed for the cobas® 8000, then repurposed for the cobas® 6000, 4800 and other systems at a significant cost savings.
