On a global level, we lend our financial support – as well as exposure via our website – to Heifer International and rebuilding efforts in Haiti (via Family Health Ministries). Heifer International’s goal is to end hunger and help people build sustainable communities. They teach people to fish rather than simply supplying them with fish. Heifer educates; it doesn’t just offer provisions. It funds projects designed to help impoverished communities around the world create sustainable, earth-friendly means of supporting and feeding their families.

Family Health Ministries supports several projects in Haiti, including a school and orphanage in Fondwa, Haiti. We’re working with them to create and support a “fundraising tracking tool” that will be available in Fall 2010 at kidsrebuildinghaiti.org. Youth groups can create their own account page and see how their fundraising efforts support the entire rebuilding campaign. The goal - $500,000 and a reopened school in September 2012.
