Who I Am

I am a Senior Multimedia Developer.

What I bring to your bottom line…

I bring the funness. I know that’s not a word, but I like to use new things! My colleagues would say I have an open mind and a knack for figuring things out. I never, well almost never, let technology get the best of me…I love solving problems! I love to learn, try, and master new things (see "Facts About Me" for the reason behind this). I get exhilarated when I get to try new technology and gadgets. One can never have too many monitors or too many widgets.

I am the multimedia developer who likes to experiment with new ways to present content and engage the learner with purpose. Sometimes I drive my team crazy with my incessant babbling about the latest new “cool” tool I found.

Facts About Me…

• M.S. Ed in Learning and Technology and a PhD in Sarcasm. Some say my sarcasm is a gift, while others say it is my whole being.
• I spent my young adulthood skydiving and teaching skydiving at my dad’s skydiving school, and I have over 600 jumps. Fun Facts: My husband proposed to me skydiving (I almost forgot to open my parachute) and my oldest son has 16 in-utero jumps.
• I spent 12 years teaching middle and high school band, and managed to keep most of my sanity, which is now being sucked out of me by my two young boys.
• I consider the following movies to hold the ultimate key phrases to everything that happens in life: Young Frankenstein, The Princess Bride, This is Spinal Tap, Clue, Galaxy Quest, Spaceballs, Drop Dead Gorgeous, and Say Anything.

How I like to give back…

I serve on my church council and as the middle school Sunday school teacher. For the last few years, my family has sponsored the Bates Memorial Ride in (memory of my uncle, John Bates), which raises money for The Riley Hospital for Children. I have participated in the Relay for Life (walking and raising money for the American Cancer Society in memory of my mother) for the last few years, and my family is a supporter of the Lungs for Life organization.
