Who I am

I am a Senior Learning Designer.

What I bring to your Bottom Line

I bring a focus on the learners' perspective. I want to help your learners figure out “What’s In It For Me?” so they can engage in new learning. I’ll help you think from your learner’s point of view, figure out what makes them tick, and discover what motivates them to learn. Then I’ll work with you to develop a learning solution that grabs their attention, sticks with them, and helps them do their job better (contributing to your bottom line!).

Facts About Me
  • I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Music – a unique but appropriate background for a learning designer. History taught me the value of research and learning from past experience. Countless hours of piano practice taught me perseverance – just keep picking away at the difficult sections until the entire piece comes together.
  • I am an avid reader of all things fiction, but I will read anything you put in front of me, no matter the topic (even the back of the cereal box!).
  • My family and I love boating and water sports, including tubing, slalom skiing and wakeboarding. My son took his first ride in a tube with daddy at 8 months old, and had a blast!
How I like to Give Back

Over the years, I have given back in several different ways, including volunteering as a musician at my church, playing the piano at nursing homes, contributing to the United Way and serving as secretary of my neighborhood association. At Christmas, my family foregoes gift-giving among the adults in favor of ‘adopting’ a family in need or donating to children’s organizations like Toys for Tots.
