Bottom-Line Performance partnered with two clients to win four 2018 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning awards. The winning projects were recognized for their innovative design and the measurable business results they delivered.
BLP and the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) partnered to win two Gold awards: Best Certification Program and Best Results of a Learning Program for the Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) program. AHE is a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association (AHA).
“In three short years, the CHEST program has trained nearly 700 trainers who have successfully prepared 2,670 front-line technicians who now carry the CHEST credential. These technicians emerge from training more knowledgeable in the science of infection prevention, happier in their positions, more confident in their communication skills, and more engaged with the clinical staff,” says Patti Costello, AHE Executive Director. “We are honored to receive two Gold awards recognizing the profound impact the CHEST program has made on participating health care organizations, their patients, staff, and the healthcare community. AHE’s engagement with Bottom-Line Performance (BLP) has resulted in an innovative training model with astonishing results.”
AHE represents, defines, and advances over 2,100 environmental services (EVS) professionals who are responsible for caring for the patient and resident care environment (environmental services) across all care settings; including hospitals, long-term care, continuing care retirement communities and ambulatory care.
The CHEST program has enabled thousands of environmental services professionals nationwide elevate their skills while helping healthcare organizations reduce infection rates and improve patient satisfaction. AHE publishes up-to-date information on the CHEST program and upcoming certification opportunities on its website. You can see a sample of the program materials and read the project story here.
“Winning the Brandon Hall Award is as much a victory for BLP as it is for AHE,” says Sandra Rials, AHE Director of Education. “While AHE had the vision, BLP’s design and instructional strategies were the efforts that transformed vision into a best-in-class training and certification program. I remember reading through a number of great proposals for the CHEST project, but BLP’s hit it out of the park. We knew then that we had to collaborate with BLP, and are so pleased that we did.”
Sandra Rials, Director of Education for AHE, delivered a case study presentation on the CHEST program at BLP’s sold-out eXLearn conference on August 29, 2018.
BLP and another client earned a Gold award for Best Use of Games and Simulations for Learning and a Silver award for Best Use of Blended Learning. The winning project was an innovative product launch training curriculum.
“It is always special to partner with our clients to earn recognition through industry award,” said Sharon Boller, CEO of BLP. “However, three Gold awards in one year is a unique distinction. I am extremely grateful to our forward-thinking clients who collaborated with us to produce high-quality work, and to our outstanding BLP team for designing innovative solutions that met or exceeded their business goals.”
The Brandon Hall Excellence Awards recognize the best organizations that have successfully deployed programs, strategies, modalities, processes, systems, and tools that have achieved measurable results. Entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group Sr. Analysts and Executive Leadership based upon the following criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation, and overall measurable benefits. Less than 20% of entries evaluated win a Gold, Silver or Bronze designation.
